Tony Romo dumps Jessica Simpson before her birthday..because she gained weight??????

My boyfriend today told me that he was listening to Howard Stern and they said that Tony Roma dumped Jessica Simpson because she gained weight? WOW! that is so low. Well, honestly I am not too sure whether that it is true because a lot of what I have heard on the Howard Stern show is for ratings. But what was even more upsetting is my boyfriend’s and Howard’s attitude of well he can have any woman he wants so why would he be with her? Come on now how much weight has she gained 5-10 pounds..she is still beautiful and I would be so proud to be her size. Why is it that men only think about what a woman looks like not her personality? Maybe because we love with our hearts and they with the organ below the waist. Don’t get me wrong I love my boyfriend, but some of his views really urk me. Needless to say my heart goes out to Jessica because I have been there my ex-husband had the same views. Let’s just hope they are rumors after all.

Listening to the Wise Ladies of Our Blogs:)

I was reading a couple blogs the other day and their comments and they were talking about increasing calories to lose weight. So I gave this a try and so far this week I have lost 5 lbs to match the 5 I lost last week. I guess my body noticed and stopped storing my fat because it didn’t think I was starving anymore..sometimes I have to force myself to eat more as long as it’s healthy plus calories I can do it.  I am still exercising also, but trying to stay in the weight loss heart rate range as opposed to the cardio range. I must say that I quite enjoy the ladies who are master bloggers because they give out great ideas and comments and are very inspirational…THANKS LADIES :)

Modifying My workout Dvd on a Low Budget

Back in 2006 when I decided to lose weight and was successful in losing 82 lbs. I was fortunate enough to have money and was able to buy a lot of workout dvds like Turbo Jam, Tae Bo, Lesile Sansone etc…of course I have a few favorites and the rest just sit there.  Unfortunately I am now separated and trying to raise 3 kids..so money is tight. I was reading a status comment from one of my friends on facebook and saw that she was doing some kind of workout with a sand bag backpack???? Hmm I wondered what is that, so upon further investigation I discovered that they are sub for a weighted backpack for doing trails or squats. What a great idea… I decided to give this a try with an old Leslie Sansone walking 5 mile dvd that I no long did because it wasn’t challenging anymore. I took my notebook backpack because I know that it is very sturdy and I added approx. 5lbs of various weight and I added hand weights to the workout…WOW!!! what a difference 5 miles with weights it was awesome I got a great workout  and my knees were safe because it was low-impact. I am going to go through all my dvds and see what I can modify to reuse and save money:)

What brought me to BuddySlim

Just having finished a pound of cajun wings with blue cheese. I sat on my bed reading and all of a sudden my heart was hurting and I couldn’t breath..was it gas or was I having a heart attack. I was so scared at 264 pounds what was I thinking…

My kids what will they do without me? I can’t leave them behind. My daughter has asthma and severe food allergies..who will watch over her to make sure she takes her meds and cook her special meals. My son who is shy and has trouble with his speech..I am the only one who understands him no one else has patience for him. My kids are my life and without my life I have no kids.

That was the final straw..I was scared and I was determined to change my bad habits. So I got online and found Buddyslim. I can track my calories.. talk to friends for advice and motivation. So far I have lost 22 pounds..I eat whole wheat, fruits and vegs and I love it. I am nearing my 40 days of healthy living and it has become a lifestyle change for the better. I know that I will meet my mini goal and goal weight one day, but most of all I am looking forward to spending many many days with my babies:)

The 40 day rule to break in a good habit:)

Last month I went to see my doctor about my weight loss journey and he told me to try the 40 day rule. He said that if you can eat healthy and exercise for 40 days..you will find that it actually becomes a habit and a lifestyle change. It won’t be as difficult to fight the cravings and exercising will become a habit/routine like bathing or brushing your teeth. So I put his theory to the test and I am actually surprised that I really don’t crave all those burgers, fries, wings etc… I haven’t eaten them for over a month and don’t miss them at all. When I feel like something salty I eat my 100 calorie Doritos and I’m happy..for something sweet I have fruit or yogurt.  Though I am still working out the bugs from getting into my exercise routine, because being a single mom of three is hectic and time is limited.  I do try to get at least 30 minutes of exercise in per day. I never thought I could do it…I loved my junk.  If I can do it I am sure anyone can:)

I’m bring Sexy Back…..

I was talking to my daughter this morning and she asked me.  Mommy how come you are eating good foods now. I saw you eating fruit and salads and yogurt. No more chips…and when grandma brought us KFC you didn’t eat any, but Mommy you looove KFC. Then you were ecersizing (exercising) yesterday. Are you trying to get skinny Mommy? I said no honey mommy is trying to be more healthy in her eating and exercising because she wants to have a healthy heart to live long and maybe someday see my grandchildren. She says I’m not having kids remember Mommy because I don’t wanna pook (puke). She then kindly asked me.. please Mommy stay fat because I don’t wanna have to have babies because you will ask me to. I said okay honey how about we just say that Mommy is eating better and trying to lose weight because she wants to bring Sexy Back….are you gonna marry Justin Timberlake then Mommy? Introducing Kiauna she is 6 years old and way too observative..lol.

Wow! I lost 9lbs in a week even though the recommended is 2-3lbs?????

As much as I am happy that I lost 9lbs in a week I am kinda concerned. I have done a radical change in my diet to salads, fruit, yogurt, chicken and fish and  a lot of water and I try and get my recommended 1800 calories for my weight and I started exercising again. I do remember losing weight in the past and found that the first couple months the weight just flew off. Should I be concerned? Has anyone else experienced the same thing?

OMG! I just eat the best meal in a long time….let me emphasize BEST TASTING!!!!

Today I decided to try something new…in trying not eat so much red meat. So I bought a salmon filet and made a basil, parsley, garlic, salt/pepper, and olive oil rub. Chopped extra garlic for the top and baked it in the oven. For a side dish I made a salad(italian)  with just a little olive oil, salad viniger and salt/pepper. And of course my bottle of water.  Wow! it took 20 minutes and the taste was to die for. I love my garlic so that was just an added bonus. I hate salad and was surprised that I could enjoy it with no commerical dressing. I ate it about an hour ago and still am very full. This is a keeper meal for me. Even though salmon is high in fat the calories are low and as long as you don’t led a sedentary lifestyle all should be well. As they say a little bit of everything in moderation.:)

Activia Yogurt… a little extra insight for Women

As you all have probably seen countless commericals for Activia Yogurt and the postive effects that probiotics have on the digestive system. But did you know that yogurt has been a natural helper in preventing yeast infections for centuries. And with daily yogurt consumption the probiotic cultures actually help a lot of women decrease their  vaginal discharge odours. I myself have witnessed this effect of probiotics cultures. I assume it is because we all have natural occuring bacteria in our vaginal canals..the probiotic cultures in yogurt must replace or rather neutralize the odour causing bacteria. I thought that this was a nice little fact to add to the plus side of probiotic yogurts and I want to share it will all the women yogurt lovers out there:)
